I'm always in the mood for sushi. If I could have it for breakfast, I totally would.  From authentic styles to modern takes, I'm all in and will totally try anything. Good thing Los Angeles has so much to offer when it comes to sushi and one of the innovative options is Koi. It's right on La Cienega in the middle of everything so there's always stars there too. David Spade was in the corner booth the night my boyfriend and I had a little dinner date. Ok, it wasn't really little. We never go little. Always go big. 

We ordered some rolls including the new Summer roll (I believe that's what it was called. Things started to get fuzzy...), the She's so LA roll which had gold flakes on it, fresh uni,  Koi crispy rice topped with spicy tuna, Peppercorn filet mignon toban yaki and Rangers Valley Waygu carpaccio. All the rolls were amazing and the uni was just so perfect I almost didn't want to share. 

But my absolute favorites - shockingly - was the peppercorn filet mignon and the wagyu carpaccio. The filet mignon was cooked so perfectly and sat in just the most perfect mountain of shishito potato mash. I honestly just couldn't stop eating it. It was perfectly cooked at medium rare and so flavorful and tender. The carpaccio was also just so flavorful and finished with sesame seeds - my fave. 

There was still a couple things we didn't get to try so I can't wait to go back for more! There's also locations in Las Vegas, New York, Bangkok and Abu Dhabi!
